Master Plan
Palmar Peninsula — Gulf of Mexico & Laguna de Términos
The Rarest Site in Mexico
Isla Aguada Glamping Co. occupies an extraordinary position on Palmar Peninsula — a narrow strip of land on the Campeche coast where the Gulf of Mexico lies on one side and the vast Laguna de Términos stretches out on the other. This is not simply a beachfront resort. It is a resort on a peninsula, with direct access to two entirely different bodies of water — the open Gulf and Mexico's largest coastal lagoon — within the same property.
A Peninsula — Water on Both Sides
Palmar Peninsula is one of the most geographically privileged pieces of land on Mexico's Gulf Coast. The resort property stretches from the open Gulf of Mexico in the north all the way to the shores of Laguna de Términos in the south — giving guests access to two completely different water environments, two sets of wildlife, two kinds of light, two entirely different experiences of water — without ever leaving the resort.
Open ocean. Wild beaches. Turquoise water. Zero sargassum. Zero hurricanes in recorded history. Direct beach frontage with Mas'Tul Bar & Restaurant, private cabanas, kitesurfing, and the full expanse of the Gulf.
Mexico's largest coastal lagoon. Mirror-still waters. Mangrove channels. Manatees, dolphins, crocodiles, flamingos and 300+ bird species. A UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of extraordinary ecological significance.
Laguna de Términos — Resort Access
Because the resort sits on Palmar Peninsula, the shores of Laguna de Términos are not a distant excursion — they are within the resort boundary. Step out of the jungle and onto the laguna's edge. No transfers, no waiting. Just water, wildlife, and silence.
Guided Laguna Boat Tours
Glide through the mirror-still channels of the laguna on a private guided boat tour. Your naturalist guide navigates through mangrove tunnels, open water, and hidden inlets teeming with birds, manatees, and crocodiles. Morning and sunset departures available directly from the resort's laguna landing.
Private & Group Tours · Dawn & Dusk DeparturesKayak & Paddleboard
Self-guided or accompanied kayak and stand-up paddleboard excursions along the laguna's edge. The still water and shallow channels make for an intimate, peaceful experience — move at your own pace through one of the most biodiverse coastal wetlands in the Americas.
All Equipment Provided · All Levels WelcomeWildlife & Birdwatching
300+ bird species have been recorded around Laguna de Términos — including roseate spoonbills, frigatebirds, pelicans, herons, flamingos, and dozens of endemic species. Expert birdwatching guides depart at first light from the laguna shore, where sightings are guaranteed in every season.
Expert Guides · 300+ Species · Year-RoundManatees, Dolphins & Crocodiles
The laguna is home to resident populations of West Indian manatees, bottlenose dolphins, and Morelet's crocodiles. These are not occasional sightings — this is their habitat. Our guides know exactly where and when to find them, and all encounters are observed respectfully from the water.
Manatees · Dolphins · Crocodiles · Ethical Wildlife EncountersThe Laguna Knows
No Timetable.
Neither Do We.
Our laguna guides are watermen — they read the tides, the bird movements, and the light. They know when the manatees surface and where the flamingos roost at dusk. Every excursion on the laguna is unique, unhurried, and unforgettable.

Aerial Site Plan — Isla Aguada Glamping Co. — Campeche, Gulf of Mexico
North Shore — Gulf of Mexico
Open Ocean · Wild Beach FrontageThe north shore of Palmar Peninsula fronts directly onto the Gulf of Mexico — pristine wild beaches curated exclusively for Isla Aguada guests.
Mas'Tul Bar & Restaurant sits directly on the beachfront — open from 9 AM to 2 AM with panoramic Gulf views, private cabanas, wind sports, and swimming. Zero sargassum. Zero hurricanes in recorded history.
At dawn, the sky ignites across the open Gulf to the north-west — a wet sunset, the horizon on fire, the ocean catching every last colour before dark. This is the resort's sunset shore.
Jungle Corridor
2km Deep · Glamping ZoneThe jungle corridor of Palmar Peninsula runs 2km deep — a dense, pristine rainforest corridor stretching from Federal Highway 180 all the way south to the shores of Laguna de Términos.
Hidden within this living jungle: 40 Luxury Safari Tents and 10 Ultra VIP Tents elevated on dark mahogany walkways, the Grand Reception thatched pavilion, guest services huts, private shower pavilions, outdoor spa stations, and the resort's full wellness centre.
Every tent is concealed within the canopy — invisible from above, connected by a winding network of raised walkways. The jungle is not the backdrop. It is the resort itself.
South Shore — Laguna de Términos
Laguna Access · UNESCO BiosphereThe south shore of Palmar Peninsula meets the edge of Laguna de Términos — Mexico's largest coastal lagoon and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. At dawn, flamingos roost in the shallow water as the sky turns coral-pink above the laguna.
Kayak tours, guided boat excursions, birdwatching hides, and wildlife-watching for manatees, dolphins, crocodiles, and migratory birds — all accessible directly from the resort's private laguna landing.
This is the sunrise shore. The laguna faces south-east — soft coral and amber spilling across still water as the sun lifts silently above sleeping flamingos each morning.
Federal Highway 180 runs east–west through the peninsula, dividing the north Gulf beach zone from the south jungle glamping zone. Safe, signposted pedestrian crossings connect the zones. The glamping jungle corridor continues south of the highway all the way to the shores of Laguna de Términos — giving the resort water access on both sides of the peninsula.
